“CRANLEIGH’S CAPTAIN TOM”

JOHN MENLOVE CHARITY SPONSORED WALK 

 
90 year-old John Menlove, a member of Cranleigh Rotary, will be doing a 10-day sponsored walk around the cricket green on Cranleigh Common each weekday, starting on Monday 20th June at 10 am, with a planned completion date of Friday, 31st July. John is aiming to complete at least one circuit of the the cricket green each weekday.

John, who lives near the Common, is a well known personality in Cranleigh. He says, "I try to exercise every day, come rain or shine, but this will be a challenge for me. If I can do more than 10 laps over the 10 days I will”. 

John is being supported by members of Cranleigh Rotary. The money raised by the walk will be donated to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice care.
