Cranleigh Rotary Is a Hit in Switzerland!
Cranleigh Rotary's fame has spread to Switzerland, with an article in the Service Clubs section of the newspaper Schaffhauser Nachrichten on 29 May 2021.
The article followed on from a Swiss Rotary Club Zoom meeting in March, during which Cranleigh Rotarian John Greenwood, a friend of Jochen Müller of the Zürcher Weinland Club, gave a half hour presentation about our Club.
The article states: "During the coronavirus pandemic, despite local focus on coping with the crisis in the context of our Rotary Club Zürcher Weinland, there was also great interest in how clubs in other countries deal with it.
"Through a private relationship, contact was made via a virtual talk with the British Cranleigh Rotary Club in south-east England through one of its members. In perfect German, Cranleigh Past President John Greenwood informed the Swiss Rotarians about the coronavirus situation in Great Britain and the actions of his club to help the victims of pandemic."
