About the Rotary Club of Cranleigh

Cranleigh is located in the county of Surrey, about 11 km south east of Guildford.

The Rotary Club of Cranleigh currently has 34 members, drawn from various professions including several shop owners, accountants and bank managers, a farmer, a photographer, a space consultant / author, teachers and a chef.

Our members help the local community by driving minibuses, helping with reading in schools, running competitions for young people in poetry, cookery and public speaking, and sponsoring young people to attend a Rotary Youth Leaders course or enjoy a day out at Chessington World of Adventure. We also sponsor an Interact Club, formed by local school students as a social meeting place and fundraising organisation for good causes at home and abroad.

Our fund-raising events include an annual sale, a quiz and a cross-country run, and we take part in Cranleigh events such as the agricultural show and summer fair. We support local charities and contribute to young people wishing to travel or do other projects for charity. Much of the work we do, and the funds we raise, go towards youth projects.

For our programme of speakers see Speakers' Programme page.

Anyone wishing to attend our meetings, including Rotarians from other Rotary Clubs, should contact our secretary, Brian Arendell, on 01483-273204, or e-mail: arendell@hotmail.co.uk .
