Cranleigh Rotary's ever popular quiz night, held on 7 April, was a great success, raising £500 for the local charity, Riding for the Disabled.

92 people took part, comprising 16 teams in total. The winning team for the second year in succession was "Generally Knowledgeable", with 89 points. Very many congratulations to them!

In second place were the "Cranleigh Cabbies" with 88 points, followed closely by " Random Generators" with 86 points. A close-run competition indeed!

Liz Harrison, who is Chair of the Cranleigh Riding for the Disabled group, made a short presentation to the assembled audience during the evening. She showed a short video to illustrate the nature and scope of their work in helping disabled young people gain self-confidence and mobility through the work of the many volunteers who help them.

"We were delighted with the great turnout," said Patrick Leake, President of Cranleigh Rotary. "It was a  thoroughly enjoyable evening and a number of people remarked on the pleasant atmosphere.

"John and Gail Woodford did a superb job in organising the event, together with other Rotarians who helped to make the evening such a success.

"We are also pleased to be able to support such a worthwhile charity."
