Quiz Night 2016

Rotary quiz 2016

The ever-popular annual quiz organised by the Rotary Club of Cranleigh was held in the Village Hall on Friday, 15th April 2016.

A total of 20 teams, comprising 118 individuals, participated in the quiz this year. A most enjoyable evening was had by all!

The hall was filled to capacity and the competition was fierce, with several teams vying for first place throughout the evening. The winning team was “Generally Knowledgeable” and they were rewarded with the Rotary Cup and some liquid refreshments to be enjoyed at home! The team in second place was "Serendipity", followed by "Tattieheads" in third.

The raffle was also most generously supported by all who attended and the final result enabled Cranleigh Rotary to make a donation of almost £800 to Sight for Surrey, a local group which helps people with sight loss and combined sight and hearing loss.

Figures indicate that by 2020, 45,000 individuals will be living with sight loss in Surrey - that's about two-thirds of the current population of Guildford - so all funds generated  by the quiz will be greatly appreciated.

"We would like to thank everyone who supported the event and made it such a splendid occasion," said Rotarian Mike Ellis.

Our next Rotary quiz will take place in Cranleigh Village Hall on Friday, 7th April 2017.
